When choosing a bottle, consider your baby's age, teat flow rate and the material it's made from.

• Material: glass bottles are more heat-resistant and easy to clean, while plastic ones are lighter and more resistant to drops.
• Anti-colic system: bottles with a specially shaped teat or valve (e.g. Twistshake, Philips AVENT) reduce the amount of air taken in during feeding.
• Teat flow rate: choose the flow rate label according to your baby's age and drinking pace – slower flow for newborns, faster for older babies.
• Compatibility: check whether the teats and spare parts of a particular brand are interchangeable with other bottles in the same line.
• Care: most bottles are suitable for sterilising and the dishwasher, which makes everyday use easier.
